Florida Citrus Sports (FCSports) is searching for a new public address voice for Orlando's bowl games starting this season following the retirement of longtime PA announcer Bob Matheison.
All residents of Central Florida ages 18 and up are invited to apply for a chance to be the new PA announcer.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Record a video of yourself reading the script provided by FCSports (link to the right). The video should last no longer than two minutes.
Upload the video to YouTube* and submit the link (along with your name, phone number and e-mail address) below by NOON on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Three finalists will be selected by a judging panel featuring FCSports officials and local celebrities. Those three will perform live at the Citrus Bowl on Friday, Dec. 2, and the judging panel will choose based on those live performances.
THE JOB
One local resident will be named the new voice of Orlando’s bowl games. They will be the official PA announcer at all bowl games at the Citrus Bowl, as well as any additional football games Florida Citrus Sports schedules in the future. In addition, they will receive priority consideration for public address opportunities at other FCSports events and will be considered for any other Citrus Bowl events in need of a PA announcer.
FINE PRINT
1. Open to all residents of Central Florida ages 18 and older.
2. Entries will be judged ONLY on merit of voice and ability to deliver script provided.
3. By submitting, all entrants permit FCSports to publish their links in promotional efforts.
4. If selected as a finalist, the entrant MUST be available on Friday, Dec. 2 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. for live performances at the Citrus Bowl
5. Chosen applicant must be available for the Champs Sports Bowl (Dec. 29) and Capital One Bowl (Jan. 2). He or she must also be willing to clear schedule for dates of future bowl games.
