On behalf of its Selection Committee, Florida Citrus Sports' Chairman Cathy Weeden and CEO Steve Hogan announce that Louisiana State University has been selected as the Southeastern Conference representative in this season's Capital One Bowl.

Capital One Bowl Extends Partnership with Big Ten Conference

Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan and Big Ten Conference Commissioner James Delaney have announced a partnership agreement for the 2010-13 Capital One Bowls. The agreement with the Big Ten will bring Orlando the top non-BCS selection from the conference.

Orlando Bowls Receive Re-certification; FCSports Announces 2009 Champs Sports Bowl Date

Florida Citrus Sports Chief Executive Officer Steve Hogan announced today that the 2009 Champs Sports Bowl will be played at 8:00 p.m. (EST) on Tuesday, December 29.  In addition, the NCAA Football Issues Committee extended licensing for both the Champs Sports Bowl and the New Years Day-stalwart Capital One Bowl.

The 2007-08 bowl season was an outstanding one on all fronts for the Capital One Bowl, solidifying the New Years’ Day game’s stronghold as one of college football’s premier postseason events. This year’s contest between Michigan and Florida has been widely-held as the finest game to be played in the ’07-08 postseason and the television and attendance numbers reflect those sentiments.

The Wolverines snapped a four-game bowl losing streak Tuesday, Jan. 1, with a 41-35 Capital One Bowl victory over the Florida Gators before a Florida Citrus Bowl crowd of 69,748 and an ESPN on ABC national television audience in the final appearance for Carr and a senior class that won its first post-season game.

Despite a delayed announcement of its teams, the 2008 Capital One Bowl has reached a sellout Florida Citrus Sports Executive Director Steve Hogan announced today. The bowl reached its normal capacity of 65,438 less than 13 hours after Florida and Michigan were announced as this year’s teams and sold above that capacity as temporary bleacher seats were sold out hours later.

On behalf of its Selection Committee, Florida Citrus Sports’ Chairman Tony Martin and Executive Director Steve Hogan announce that the University of Florida and the University of Michigan have been chosen to play in this year’s Capital One Bowl. The game, played on January 1 at 1:00 p.m. and televised on nationally on ABC, will be the first meeting between the two national powerhouses since the 2003 Outback Bowl.
