Media credential applications are now open. If you are covering a specific team, please do not apply until the team is officially announced.
Russell Athletic Bowl Media Credential Application
Capital One Bowl Media Credential Application
APPLICATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, DEC 19, 5:00 p.m.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.
FCSports will ask the media relations directors of the participating schools to review the list of applicants for any questionable credential requests and all applications are subject to final approval by the FCSports staff.
Media members who have been approved may pick up their credentials during media registration at the media hotel during bowl week or at Media Will Call on game day. No credentials will be mailed.
To obtain your media credential you must:
- Be present at Media Registration or Media Will Call to receive your credentials, thus one person cannot obtain media credentials for all members of his or her media agency.
- Present a government issued photo ID.
- Sign your name on the credential registration form. Please Note: For security reasons, credentials will only be issued to the recipients named on the credential application.
Use your credential to obtain admittance to official bowl sanctioned events such as press conferences, practices and hospitality events. Remember you will NOT be given admittance to any of Orlando's major theme parks by displaying your bowl credential. Theme park media relations contacts must be contacted prior to your visit.
Media registration prior to game day will be located at the Green Room of the Rosen Plaza Hotel. At registration, media who have been approved to cover the game will receive their credential, media gift and parking pass (if applicable). See the media guide or daily itineraries for hours of operation.
Credentials that are not picked up at Media Registration will be available on the day of the game at the Gate A ticket window located adjacent to parking lot C at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium. The booth will open two hours prior to kickoff. NOTE: Parking passes MUST be obtained prior to game day.
Game Day Entrance
The media entrance on game day is at Gate A in the northwest corner of the stadium. All bags entering the stadium will be searched. Please allow extra time for entry into the stadium on game day.
Media gifts will be distributed at Media Registration. All media gifts will require a signature of receipt by the individual that has been assigned a credential, thus one person cannot obtain media gifts for all members of his or her media agency.
The media hotel is the Rosen Plaza Hotel. The room rate for media staying at the hotel will be established prior to credential applications being open. Reservations for the hotel may only be made online when applying for credentials.
The media hospitality room will be located at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. Beverages and light snacks will be available in the room. See the media guide or daily itineraries for hours of operation.
A limited number of parking passes, issued on a priority basis, are available. Parking passes can be applied for during the credential application process. Parking passes will be distributed along with media credentials at Media Registration at the Rosen Plaza Hotel. Lost parking passes will not be replaced.
Media are encouraged to utilize the media shuttle from the media hotel on game day. See the media guide or daily itineraries for hours of operation.
The press box at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is equipped with Wireless Internet. Courtesy phones for pool use are provided in the press box. The phone lines are toll-restricted. A private line is strongly encouraged for media members who require a highspeed connection during the game for such things as online chats, live blogging, etc. If you prefer a private line, contact Greg Creese for ordering information. When you place the order, please specify if the phone use will be for press use or photo use. You must provide your own phone device.
Both bowl games are frequency coordinated events. Once credentialed, media members will be sent information on coordinating with the bowl’s game day official in charge of radio frequencies. Lack of compliance with this rule will result in the credential recipient being escorted from the stadium.
No online internet service will be allowed "real time" transmission of the game. Only contractual rights-fee paying media will be allowed "real time" transmission during the event. "Real Time" is defined as any online media providing live continual play-by-play coverage of an event. Outlets planning to cover the game using blogs or social media applications (such as Twitter and Facebook) should note that on their credential application.
Photo passes will be issued only to accredited photographers and videographers on assignment and photographers authorized by Florida Citrus Sports. No freelance photographers will be granted credentials. Photo passes grant access to the press box. Under NCAA rules, photographers are not allowed between the 25-yard lines and must remain outside the restraining lines surrounding the playing field. Photo armbands distributed on game day will allow photographers to step into pre-approved shooting lanes. Arm bands can be obtained in the photography work room prior to kick off.
Credentialed photographers are encouraged to work on game day in the Photography Workroom in the Varsity Club at the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium. The Varsity Club is located in the free standing building in the South end zone of the stadium. The room will have wireless internet access and one pool phone line.
TV stations planning to bring satellite trucks to the game, must notify Greg Creese to secure a parking spot at the stadium.
Media members are often eager to cover team theme park visits, however all three of Orlando's major theme parks require media members to have an assigned escort before entering the parks. Please contact the park(s) through their respective media relations departments.
