Bill Sullivan Wins Howard Palmer Award at Member Celebration

Florida Citrus Sports CEO Steve Hogan announced at Monday’s FCSports Member Celebration that Bill Sullivan, owner of I.Wanna Distributors, has earned the not-for-profit’s highest service honor, the Howard Palmer Award. Hogan also announced L.J. Ruffin & Associates owner Larry Ruffin began his one-year term as chairman of the board while Bobby Kuykendall of Kuykendall Gardner Risk & Insurance Brokers was inducted as the organization’s 36th president.

FCSports Providing Free Sports Physicals To Orange County Children
The Florida Citrus Sports Foundation, with the assistance of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and Florida Hospital, will offer free sports physicals to local elementary, middle and high school-aged youth as part of the “Be a Player” program. The physicals – which are required for participation in Orange County Public Schools athletics –  will take place in the Varsity Club of the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium (One Citrus Bowl Place, 32805) from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21.

FCSports Member Celebration slated for April 23 at Orlando Science Center
Florida Citrus Sports will host the annual Member Celebration on Monday, April 23 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. atop the Orlando Science Center at Lockhaven Park, signaling the start of 2012-2013 season. Held on OSC’s Rooftop Terrace, the Celebration will be highlighted by the Member Service Awards presentation and first remarks from new president Bobby Kuykendall.

Orange County recognizes FCSports Foundation MVPs
'Take Stock in Children' has aided more than 16,000 low-income students statewide, generating over one million mentor hours since 1995. The organization retains nearly $110 million in Florida Prepaid Foundation scholarship assets, funded from both the private and public sector.
