The Big Ten got much of the spotlight last weekend thanks to Michigan State's upset of Wisconsin. The SEC didn't have quite the same fireworks, since the conference seems to largely be in a holding pattern until a packed Nov. 5 weekend.

The great thing about days like last Saturday is that they remind us of why we love college football.  Michigan State's miracle Hail Mary against Wisconsin was the kind of once-in-a-lifetime moment that Spartan fans will cite for years to come.

Now that the first BCS standings have been released, it's time to start up one of our (ok, my) favorite games around the office: If The Season Ended Today. We're not PROJECTING the bowls; we're treating the current poll like the final one, so you can get a better idea of how the bowl process works.

Week 5 was a light one for teams in the ACC and Big East, but the biggest games of the weekend might have an impact far beyond the teams playing in them. Our Champs Sports Bowl representatives have been on the road up and down the east coast meeting with fans and officials from our partner schools as we prepare for the second bowl season under the current conference pairings that give us the second team from the Big East (first after BCS) and the third team from the ACC (second after BCS).

After five weeks of play in the Big Ten and SEC, the Florida Citrus Sports Team Selection Committee might be a step closer to seeing which teams will be on the board for the Capital One Bowl in late December.
